How I Created My Sax Routine.

I’m not perfect ok…I’m not and in the midst of my imperfections there is an Iota of Change. The moment I decided to take my music one step at a time and create a great sax routine.

For me, a sax routine is a guide, and the two values that I reach stand for in creating a sax routine are Creativity and Consistency.

Make your sax routine

The other values or qualities of a Saxophone routine are

  1. Progressive
  2. Disciplined
  3. Understanding
  4. Realistic
  5. Fun
  6. Personal

Having a bad saxophone routine makes learning the saxophone repetitive, dormant, and just MEH😕

Repeat after me

NO MORE BAD SAX ROUTINE

No more…not in 2020 😑 not anymore

Basically you need to ask yourself 3 Questions.

  • What are your short term music Goals?
  • What are your long term music goals ?
  • How are you going to acheive these goals ?

Knowing the whats, the whys and the hows really give more insight and direction when creating a good sax routine

For me,

One of my short term goals was to understand music theory and my long term goal is to take my music one note at a time

On a side note, I have designed a simple sax plan for absolute begineers trying to find direction in where to start in their music journey. I hope that the little I know will give you a sense of direction in your music journey ♥️💗💖🎷✌🏿

Basically your sax routine should be

  • 20% warmup: dont underestimate a good warm up exercise
  • 50% learning something new( scales, techniques and so much more)
  • 20% A new song that will challenge you
  • 10% Just being fun and enjoying yourself, think of it as a reward for completing your sax routine.

I can’t promise you that just WRITING a sax routine will bring forth results

But I can 100000000% guarantee that with a great sax plan, a sax routine and Consistency and creativity, you will see progressive growth

I CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH
